About OSRFR
Welcome to the Oxfordshire Society of Rugby Football Referees. We are a small and friendly society committed to providing dedicated and capable match officials across all levels of the game.
We appoint referees and assistant referees to clubs, universities, colleges and schools for men's, women's and junior games in the Oxfordshire area.
The society welcomes and caters for all levels of fitness, availability and commitment and provides training for new recruits, continual development for existing members and an opportunity for all referees to perform to the best of their ability.
We are always looking for new recruits to help us provide the best referees across the county. Whether you want to qualify to help out your local club or educational establishment, or want to be the next Wayne Barnes, we will support you to realise your potential.
Our History
OSRFR dates back to at least the 1930's based on newspaper archives from Banbury at the time. However, exactly when the society was formed is currently unknown.
Over that time we have had members of the society get up to the top ranks of refereeing on a national level whilst also maintaining a strong grass roots community, demonstrating we are a society who tries to cater for all.
In recent times we have provided referees to over 100 games a month (on average) with everything from age grade cup games (U14 upwards) to representative games for the county U20s.
